Harold Camping, founder of Family Radio International, predicted that the world would end on May 21st at 6:00 P.M. Today is the 22nd. Unfortunately people believed and followed him. Some gave away their belongings. Some drained their savings. Some drove thousands of miles to California to be raptured outside Camping’s gated home.
One man who was outside Camping’s gate was quoted as saying, “I had some skepticism, but I was trying to push the skepticism away because I believe in God” (Virginian-Pilot, “Sunday News,” 5/22/2011, p. 6 boldface for emphasis).

• Why does it still surprise me that even today the people of God are not reading their Bibles?
• Why does it still surprise me that people believe in man more than they believe in God — even for divine events?

This man who was quoted doesn’t believe God; he believes in Camping!

• Yeshua said He is going to return: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:3).
• The angels verified it: “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).

But He also said this: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father” (Mt. 24:36).

You know what the world did on May 21st?  People organized rapture parties, aiming to celebrate when the believers leave.
An event like this causes . . .

• the world to ridicule a beautiful moment that exists for the Bride of Messiah, when our Bridgegroom will come to claim us.
• the world to make light of an event that will be its complete annihilation.
• But what deception does, additionally, is cause people to mistrust God and hold Him liable for what man has said.

We must know the the truth of God; then we will know the lies of the enemy. I pray for these believers who have been deceived — that they will attribute this lie to Camping — not religion and certainly not God!
One church was pro-active and positioned members outside of Camping’s home to minister to those who would be disillusioned by the lie. Praise God that the church as a whole did not sit around and make fun of our brothers and sisters . . . but rallied around them to pick them up and point their focus to God.
Believers, hope thou in God!

Father, there will be false messiahs and there will be false predictions, but help us as your bride to trust YOU! Redirect our focus toward You and upon You! Amen!

I heard this wonderfully anointed worship band minister about a week ago. They entered into the throne room and took us with them! As the guitarist ventured into spontaneous worship, he said something that blessed me tremedously. I am sure the saying is not new, but the way he ministered it was pregnant  with images and truth and possibilities. He said, “Father, ruin me for this world!” Can you see that!? This is what I saw:

• Give me a glimpse of your glory that I will never settle for this world or what it has to offer.
• Give we a taste of your love so that every bit of who I am longs for you!
• Give me a vision for my life so that all other visions — of money, fortune, and fame — pale in comparison!
• Give me a desire for eternity so that I will be compelled to tell every dying soul that there is a life greater than the one in which we live!

RUIN ME FOR THIS WORLD!

In Mark 1:24, Yeshua went into the synagogue to teach. As he was teaching, a demon-possessed man shouted out, “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us?” That word “destroy” in the Greek is not annihilate as we think of the word! That word really means “ruin.”  Yeshua did not seek to kill the demon. That will be done when satan and all his demons will be thrown into the lake of fire at the end of the age.

This is what the demon was asking Yeshua:

• “Why have you come to ruin my party?”
• “Why have you come to make me reveal myself when I could have just silently taken over this man and possibly the whole synagogue?”
• “Why are you making me so unsettled that I have to be exposed?”

That’s what we ask of you today, Father, RUIN OUR PARTY! Don’t let us silently go through life doing things sneaky and underhandedly. Unsettle us in this life!

Father, we get so comfortable here! Thank you for the pleasures of this world that you have made for us to enjoy — the wonder of the ocean, the majestic mountains, a teeming forest — and so much more! Let us never settle for what we see! Ruin us for this world! In Yeshua’s Name. Amen.

I ran into an old friend who told me to keep her daughter in prayer. She said that her daughter, now in college, had befriended members of the gay and lesbian community. This young woman who was raised in church was dealing with a crisis of faith because she could not see how God would send such nice people to hell.

It is so unfortunate that this generation (born between 1982 and 2002), called “millenials,” have gotten a watered-down Gospel. They will need the whole counsel of the Word because of the fiery darts, the temptations, the ideologies, and the untruth that combat them in every area of their lives.

My generation (the Baby Boomers) preached to the” Millenials” the message of John 3:16. No doubt everyone Millenial who has been in any way connected with church can quote it: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

It is a great verse ! It’s beautiful! It contains incredible truth. But it does not contain the whole truth. Consider John 3:17-18: “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

When we did not believe in the gift of God we were already condemned! WE ALL WERE — whether gay or straight, black or white, male or female! This world was and is condemned because of sin. We are ALL on a sinking ship and the only way we can get off of it is through Yeshua (Jesus). He has thrown us a lifeline. You see, God did not send His Son to condemn the world it because the world is already condemned.
Millenials, you will see and be exposed to so much in this life. Everything in this world is meant to lure you and deceive you. But do not be fooled by untruth. God is not sending anyone to hell. DON’T BUY INTO THE DECEPTION THAT HE IS. The wages of sin is death. That cannot be changed. That’s why he died. That’s why He took our sins, so he could pay for them with his life. He has come that we can escape death and hell, but the only way to do it is by catching hold of the Lifeline. No one else holds it; no one else can! No one else can throw it to you! No one! Millenials, your greatest task is to get your friends to catch hold of the Lifeline too! Don’t go down in a sinking ship with those who do not choose to get off when they have been thrown the only means of rescue. It’s a suicide mission! You have not been called to that! Don’t buy into the deception!

Father, I lift up to you the millenials who deal with so much! In the midst of all the darkness around them, let them see the light. Let them not try to put the plan of salvation through their own limited filter. Let them know that yes, you are all about love, and loving them, and rescuing them! It is not your will that no one should perish. That’s why you came! Let them experience your love and be those voices crying out in the wilderness, preparing the way of the Lord! In Yeshua’s Name! Amen!

“God, go into the jails,” this woman prayed. “Save some man or woman who is locked up. Go into the hospitals,” she continued,” and heal diseases. Put hospitals out of business. Go into the morgues and funeral homes and raise the dead!”

There was more but I will stop there.

When I heard someone pray this prayer, immediately I thought of how far we have missed the mark as believers.

This is what Yeshua told His disciples before his resurrection:

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). Yes, he told this to the twelve, but I believe that same power is for us today.

This is what Yeshua tells them after His resurrection:
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ‘All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. GO YE THEREFORE…'” (Matthew 28:18-19 caps for emphasis).

I wonder if it saddens God when we tell Him to do what He told us to do? He told us to “go into all nations.” And now we tell Him to go. Have we reduced the Creator of the world to a God that we can push around — go do this and go do that! We are the ones who are to go into the jails and the hospitals and yes, even the morgues! But we think that His power is not our power!

This person’s prayer was fervent and it was heartfelt. But guess what happened after she finished:  we picked up our Bibles and purses, got in our air-conditioned cars, went to our homes, propped our feet up, ate dinner, spent time with our families, and then we went to bed. We could rest easily because we told God to do what we were supposed to do.

Father, forgive us for this comfort we feel in telling you what to do. Bring back our fear and reverence of You. But most of all, give us a vision of the mission that is so dear to Your heart. You assured us that You had/have ALL power! Then You empowered us. Then you told us to go. Forgive us for not walking in the power that you so graciously and mercifully gave us to bless the nations.

I remember GOD giving me this incredible revelation about Yeshua being the door. Not only did Yeshua make a way to the Father by creating a door, but also he became the way — by becoming the door.

Consider these Scriptures:

John 10:2
But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

THE SHEPHERD OF THE SHEEP DOESN’T CLIMB OVER THE PEN OR THE DOOR OR THE GATE TO GAIN ENTRANCE. HE SIMPLY WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR.

John 10:1
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way,

the same is a thief and a robber.

ANYONE WHO TRIES TO ENTER ANY OTHER WAY —  OTHER THAN THROUGH THE DOOR — IS NOT THE SHEPHERD. HIS MOTIVE IS SIMPLY TO STEAL THE SHEEP OR DECEIVE THEM.

John 10:7
Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

THIS MEANS THAT THE SHEEP MUST COME THROUGH HIM.

John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

HERE YESHUA REITERATES THAT HE IS THE DOOR AND HE GIVES THE MEANING OF THE SHEEP. THE SHEEP ARE MEN. AND THE ONLY WAY THAT MEN CAN BE SAVED IS BY ENTERING THROUGH HIM. HERE’S AN INCREDIBLE REVELATION — WE CAN GO IN AND OUT. WE HAVE FREE ACCESS. THAT’S REAL FREEDOM. OUTSIDE THE DOOR, YOU CANNOT GET IN. BUT THE ONE WHO HAS ENTERED THROUGH THE DOOR, HAS ABSOLUTE LIBERTY. THEY HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO IN TO BE WITH THE SHEPHERD, TO SPEND QUALITY, INTIMATE TIME WITH HIM AND THEN LEAVING TO GATHER OTHER SHEEP.

Here’s the most profound significance of Jesus becoming the DOOR.

HE DID IT SO THAT THE FATHER COULD COME TO US!

Father, thank you that Yeshua became the door for us. Because He did, He afforded us absolute freedom. Father, help us use that freedom for the work of the Kingdom. And thank you that his sacrifice in becoming the door gave you access to us and therefore we have access to you. Thank you for Yeshua, the door of the sheepfold!
