You probably have a one in your yard, or your neighbor’s yard. It’s that tree that hangs on to its leaves seemingly forever. You look out your window, waiting for all the leaves to drop so you can rake them all at one time. I’m sure you have one — that tree will not let go of its leaves despite the wind’s intensity and the approaching season. It’s similar to when you know that a season is almost up, but you hang on to it at all cost!
Tree, those leaves are dead! They’re not even pretty anymore! They don’t radiate the autumnal reds, browns and brilliant golds of Indian summers. They are crinkly and dry and brittle and dead!! Tree, you can receive all you need for sustenance from the approaching new season! If YOU are still holding on to dead, lifeless things, it is indeed the season, past time if you will, to let them go! Let the year rake them up, collect them in a bag and discard them! Let the winds of life jostle them, loosen them and blow them away!
Let’s prepare for our new season. The cold is coming and maybe even the snow, but spring is not too far behind.
Shake off your dead leaves, EMBRACE YOUR SEASON, and move on!!
